MY FAVORITE ..............

QUOTES: "Character is doing the right thing when nobody is looking." - J.C. Watts

I don't go to concerts often anymore, the first seventy-five were before 1990.

AUTHORS:  Lewis Grizzard, David McCullough, James Bradley, Cal Thomas and the brilliant Ann Coulter. I only read non-fiction.

ACTORS: First, John Wayne & Jimmy Stewart. Also Anthony Hopkins & Tom Hanks who are a very close third and fourth. Honorable mention to Paul Giamatti, Hugh Grant, Patrick Stewart, Emma Thompson, Maureen O'Hara, Ward Bond, Charles Laughton, Tim Roth, Kevin Spacey & of course, my man Burt Mustin!

THINGS I ENJOY: Flying, surfing, people watching, talk radio, animals, nature, hiking, biking, the NFL, Classic films & TV. I am a simple man and enjoy simple things in life. I desire peace and quiet and a sense of order in my life above all else.

I'LL NEVER: Wear sandals, a backwards ball cap, pierce or tattoo any part of me, skip dessert at Kojak's, give up flying, grow my hair past my ears, be out of work or harm a woman in any way.

I REMEMBER: Gas costing 30 cents, penny candy, dollar movies, a ticket to a Phillies game was $2.50 and you could get a burger, fries and a drink at McDonalds for a dollar. I remember when 98% of fathers were at home with their families, when neighbors knew each other and looked after each other's kids, when teachers were ALWAYS right, when adults were properly addressed as Miss, Mrs. or Mr. I remember when Louis Armstrong died, watching Lyndon Johnson's funeral on TV, when Apollo 13 was in trouble, when Nixon was president, banging pots and pans on New Years Eve 1970, playing with "H. O." cars, crying for a Mickey Mouse gumball machine, being in Kindergarten, every teacher I've ever had, hundreds of kids I went to school with.... and so much more.

THINGS ABOUT ME (If anyone cares, lol) :

  1. I'm scared to death of climbing ladders.

  2. I can't open my eyes under water.

  3. I'm terribly allergic to perfumes and colognes. Besides, I think the natural aroma of a woman's clean skin is MUCH more alluring!

  4. I love walking through cemeteries. I find them to be very peaceful places.

  5. I have been to every state except for North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Vermont, Montana, Alaska and Nebraska.

  6. I can only print when I write. If I write in cursive it is completely illegible, even to me.

  7. I had 3 clarinet lessons in the 3rd grade but got kicked out because I hit another kid with my instrument. He was dissin' my playin' man!

  8. I was a cub scout for three years. Pack 86, Den 1, Willingboro, NJ.

  9. I got beat up by a girl once, Cindy Norton in the sixth grade. She attacked me and being a young gentleman, I refused to fight back and hit a girl. At my 25th reunion, I still got razzed about it.

  10. I played the part of the talking tree in the Wizard of Oz play when I was 10 (embarrassed the hell out of myself).

  11. I was a pretty good water skier in my teens.

  12. Between age 13-17 I roller skated several times each week at a local rink. Big social scene too!

  13. I have never hitchhiked.

  14. I played Little League baseball every year until age 15. I was a short stop and pretty good.

  15. I've been in a few fights as a kid (excluding #8) and only lost one.

  16. I have a photographic memory... sort of.

  17. I have never drank a cup of coffee in my life. I hate it!

  18. I'm not a fan of smooth jazz and despise rap and hip-hop. I like rock, country and easy listening.

  19. I hate sitting in someone else's "warm spot." You know, when someone gets up from a seat and it's still warm.

  20. I don't know how to play a single card game.

  21. I saved a little girl from drowning when I was about 13. She was 6.

  22. I studied Tae Kwan-do Karate for several years as a kid and attained a red belt, one away from black.

  23. If I won the lottery I would have a modest 3/2 house on a few acres but I would have a bunch of vehicles. I would also retire my brother and my friends Robert, Matt and Darrin.

  24. I rather not be a passenger in a car and will always drive if I can.

  25. I think I'm a pretty good cook and want to become an excellent one.

  26. I ate a 28 oz. steak once and thought I was going to die.

  27. I believe in the death penalty and for more crimes than just murder.

  28. I despise political correctness.

  29. I have never hunted. I like to fish but I catch and release.

  30. I think the ACLU is the most dangerous organization in America.

  31. I smoked for several years into my 20's and can't believe I ever did.

  32. I think Rita Hayworth is the most beautiful woman ever filmed.

  33. My first concert was KISS on December 17, 1976. My last concert was RUSH on Aug. 11, 2007.

  34. I am a very loyal friend. Not one single person who has ever told me something in confidence has had that confidence violated. Not one, not ever.
